Book Description
As humanity steadily decimates the global bird population, scientists and scholars are discovering that birds may have played a greater role in shaping human evolution than primates. Our distant ancestors imitated birdsong to develop language and followed bird migration flyways around the world, consistently settling in prime bird habitat. Church of Birds is an eco-history of human evolution that’s supported by recent scientific discoveries, ancient myth, and sacred texts. Across dozens of cultures, migratory birds were seen as divine agents of a benevolent sun, delivering seeds to the landscape in spring and guiding souls to a heavenly paradise in the fall. These mythic roles were ultimately incorporated into Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Book Description
Ever wonder why birds, such as sparrows, blue jays, ravens, seagulls, and bluebirds sit side by side on telephone wires or light poles all clustered together, rain or shine? They are gathering to have church together. Maybe it's their Sunday school class, Bible study, or practicing for the church choir. You can sometimes hear them chirping, some louder than others. They are singing praises to God. They teach us how God wants us to show His love and kindness to all, big or small, soft spoken, loud, or noisy. We all matter to God! As a child, I would always ask my parents, "Why are all the birds up there, and what are they doing? Each time they answered, "The birds are having church". I pray that as you read this book, you also share with your kids and grandkids, as I have, the importance of acceptance, love, and kindness to all. Remember, Jesus loves you!

Book Description
From biblical times to today, humans have found meaning and significance in the actions and symbolism of birds. We admire their mystery and manners, their strength and fragility, their beauty and their ugliness—and perhaps compare these very characteristics to their own lives in the process. Though admired today, the birds of Scripture are largely unseen and underappreciated. From the well-known image of the dove to the birds that gorge on the flesh of the defeated “beast” in Revelation, birds play a dynamic part in Scripture. They bring bread to the prophets. They are food for the wanderers. As sacrifices, they are the currency of mercy. Highlighting 10 birds throughout Scripture, author Debbie Blue explores their significance in both familiar and unfamiliar biblical stories and illustrates how and why they have represented humanity across culture, Christian tradition, art, and contemporary psyche. With these (usually) minor characters at the forefront of human imaginations, poignant life lessons illuminate such qualities as desire and gratitude, power and vulnerability, insignificance and importance—even as readers gain a better understanding that God’s mysterious grace is sometimes most evident in His simplest of creatures.

Book Description
When Christians collude in crimes against humanity, they betray their citizenship in the kingdom of God, demonstrating that Christ's Lordship does not rule over every area of their lives. The popular ideology known as Christian Zionism is a prime enabler of such widespread discipleship--failure in western Christianity. As the state of Israel continues to violate international law with colonial settlement in lands captured by warfare, legalized racial discrimination, and the creation of what many have called "the world's largest open-air prison" in Gaza, Christian Zionists continue their unqualified support for Zionist Israel. Though Israel advertises itself as "the only democracy in the Middle East," it is actually a rigid ethnocracy--its entire society built on the foundations of Jewish supremacy over a Palestinian underclass. History will eventually judge Christian Zionist support for Israel's crimes against the Palestinians in the same way people of conscience now condemn the Christian church in the American South for its defense of slavery and hostility towards the civil rights movement. Just as the Southern Baptist church finally repudiated its pro-slavery past, so everyone genuinely devoted to Jesus Christ must repudiate both the ideology and the legacy of Christian Zionism.

Book Description
Journeys that begin in brokenness rarely follow a straight road to healing. There are twists and turns--and setbacks--on the path of repentance. Night Driving tells the story of a pastor and seminary professor whose moral failures destroyed his marriage and career, left his life in ruins, and sent him spiraling into a decade-long struggle against God. Forced to fight the demons of his past in the cab of the semi-truck he drove at night through the Texas oil fields, Chad Bird slowly began to limp toward grace and healing. Drawing on his expertise as an Old Testament scholar, Bird weaves together his own story, the biblical story, and the stories of fellow prodigals as he peels back the layers of denial, anger, addiction, and grief to help readers come face-to-face both with their own identities and with the God who alone can heal them.

Book Description
This book is about Mother Reba P. Richardson Jackson. She was a lady of class and loved to get dressed up and wear fancy hats. She was a lady that walked with authority. She always had Pearls and a scarf around her neck. She was a Proverbs 31 woman. The scriptures fits her: Proverbs 31:15, 20, 22 KJV 15: “She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 20: She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 22: She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.” The book tells how she sang from church to church. She was a Devotional Leader and Prayer Warrior. Her life was taken care of her 22 children and singing. In Spite of her having Cancer in her throat before and her mouth was twisted from a tumor, it never stopped her from singing. She loved to bless others when she would sing. Singing was a way she said “Thanks to the Lord for all He has done for her.” All the songs that are mentioned in the book were some of her favorite. “Especially during Sunday morning church service.” The Song Bird was chosen to show how free she could fly around God’s creation and sing. I pray that this book will bless all ages. I just want the world to know how much my Grandmother had an impact on my life.
