Book Description
All Christian colleges and universities hail the integration of faith and learning as a premier mission objective. There is less agreement as to what the integration of faith and learning should look like in pedagogical and cross-disciplinary terms. This volume proposes that faith and learning are interrelated from the start. Discovery of truth within the academic disciplines cultivates discipline-specific wisdom that both accords with all reality and complements the whole counsel of God. Where Wisdom May Be Found brings together a faculty of twenty-seven accomplished voices from across curricula to celebrate each field's capacity for revealing wisdom from all corners of God's creative design. In synthesis, these voices declare the depth and richness of the wisdom and knowledge of God for the educational advancement and holistic equipping of the corporate people of God.

Book Description
Where Shall Wisdom Be Found: A Grammatical Tribute to Professor Stephen A. Kaufman honors Stephen A. Kaufman, Professor Emeritus of Bible and Cognate Literature at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) and co-founder of the Comprehensive Aramaic Lexicon project, for his contributions to the world of Semitic studies and for his influence on young scholars of Bible and ancient Near Eastern studies. Professor Kaufman is a distinguished professor, internationally known expert and scholar, who for several decades guided the doctoral work of numerous graduate students in Hebrew and Cognate Studies at HUC-JIR (Cincinnati). A prolific author, editor, and innovator in the field of Semitic linguistics, Professor Kaufman challenged his students to delve deep into the study of Semitic languages in order to identify what the original authors intended to communicate in these ancient texts. Furthermore, he inspired countless scholars to reexamine the traditional interpretation of Semitic linguistic features and age-old seemingly unshakable paradigms of Akkadian, Ugaritic, Hebrew, Aramaic, and other Semitic languages. Shaped by the expertise of Professor Kaufman, the scholars who contributed to this volume present recent developments in the study of the morphology, grammar, and syntax of Biblical Hebrew: nouns; adjectives; adverbs; definiteness; prepositions; tense, mood, and aspect; the verbal stems (binyanim); qatal; yiqtol;Â volitives; weqatal; wayyiqtol; participles; infinitives; conjunction and disjunction; Hebrew poetry; and Hebrew pedagogy. The volume is intended to serve as a scholarly resource for those interested in the morphological and syntactic features of Biblical Hebrew and as a textbook for advanced Biblical Hebrew classes in institutions of higher learning.

Book Description
For generation after generation, Toltec shamans have passed down their wisdom through teaching stories. The purpose of these stories is to implant a seed of knowledge in the mind of the listener, where it can ultimately sprout and blossom into a new and better way of life. In The Wisdom of the Shamans: What the Ancient Masters Can Teach Us About Love and Life, Toltec shaman and master storyteller don Jose Ruiz shares some of the most popular stories from his family's oral tradition and offers corresponding lessons that illustrate the larger ideas within each story. Ruiz begins by explaining that contrary to the stereotypical image of "witch doctor," the ancient shamans were men and women who fulfilled several roles within their communities: philosopher, spiritual guide, medical doctor, psychologist, and friend. According to Ruiz, their teachings are not primitive or reserved for a chosen few initiates but are instead a powerful series of lessons on love and life that are available to us all. To that aim, he has included exercises, meditations, and shamanic rituals to help you experience the personal transformation these stories offer. The shamans taught that the truth you seek is inside of you. Let these stories, lessons, and tools be your guide to finding the innate wisdom that lives within.

Book Description
Paul's Jewish background and his use of Scripture have been enduring interest within New Testament scholarship. This study contributes to this discussion by examing the presence and function of Scripture in I Cor. 1:18-3:23. The author examines the precence and function of Scripture in the form of six citations, two allusions, and seven echoes within I Cor. 1:19-3:23. From the examination of the function of these texts, this work concludes that Paul's use of Scripture agrees with its original context and stands in line with a majority of early Jewish tradition. Moreover, this study suggests that Pavi's use of Scripture also helps to chart a way through a difficult section of his writing.
