Book Description
The New Bankruptcy Code plus the revised Interim Bankruptcy Rules in black line format!Complete U.S. Bankruptcy Code (U.S. Code, Title 11) and related provisions in Titles 18 & 28, as amended by the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (Pub. L. 109-8), plus the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, as amended by the revised Interim Bankruptcy Rules and the new national rule changes effective Dec. 1, 2006.DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS::On April 20, 2005, the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 ("the Reform Act"), was signed into law by President Bush as Public Law No. 109-8. This black line edition shows how the Reform Act has affected Title 11 (Bankruptcy Code) as well as selected provisions in Title 18 (Crimes and Criminal Procedure) and Title 28 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure). Insertions effected by the Reform Act are identified by underline; deletions are identified by strike through. A citation to the applicable section(s) of the Reform Act follows each affected code section appearing herein. The code sections set forth herein are current through Nov. 26, 2006 (Public Law 109-374). The Reform Act provides that, as a general rule, it shall not apply to cases commenced under Title 11 prior to October 17, 2005. However, the Act also sets forth a number of exceptions. This publication contains a comprehensive table summarizing each exception. On August 22, 2005, the Committee on Rules of Practice approved Interim Bankruptcy Rules for adoption by the local bankruptcy courts. The Interim Rules are designed to implement the changes mandated by the Reform Act until national rules are adopted, which is not anticipated until December 1, 2008. On or about October 14, 2005 and October 1, 2006, the Committee approved revisions to the Interim Rules. The Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure set forth in this publication reflect, in black line format, the changes effected by the revised Interim Rules. On December 1, 2006, amendments to the following Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure took effect: Bankruptcy Rules 1009, 5005, and 7004. The Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure set forth in this publication reflect these and earlier amendments. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Key Benefits:The Black Line shows each change to the Bankruptcy Code effected by the Reform Act and each change to the Bankruptcy Rules effected by the revised Interim Bankruptcy Rules. You know exactly what text has changed and what text has stayed the same. The pre-Reform Act version of the Bankruptcy Code will still apply to most cases commenced prior to the effective date of the Act (October 17, 2005). This black line edition shows the old and new code and thus eliminates the need to carry around 2 versions of the code.Be book smart! Why pay more? One third the cost of other publications -- only $20.00 per book (as low as $15.00 with quantity discounts).Handy paperback size of 8? x 5? inches easily fits in briefcase or purse. 400 pages.
