Book Description
Most histories of astronomy start with Copernicus, Galileo and Columbus, But this text shows that in the colourful mythology of the ancients lay a surprisingly accurate understanding of celestial movements. A radical prefiguring of modern astronomy can be found throughout history. Two millennia before Columbus set sail for America, Pythagoras conceived the world was round. In 3rd century BC, Erasthones calculated the approximate size of the Earth, and long before Galileo's heretical science upset Christian orthodoxy, our 365.25 day calendar had been more or less finalized by Julius Ceaser as a variation on that of the Egyptians. Gods in the Sky is more than a history of astronomy, it explores the inextricable links in ancient civilization between astronomy and astrology, mythology, religion, philosophy, architecture, art, agriculture and navigation, to illuminate the history of the ancients.

Book Description
Lesia's life in volume one and two took her on a journey from Jerusalem, Rome, Patra, Greece, and Ukraine. She kept the heartbeat of love inside her mind, reminding her that soon she would be reunited with her soul mate. Things did not go as she had hoped. A big dream was born inside this new-age woman. She will break the mold of where and what women were doing in her timeline. She now accepts the challenge of building an Andrew School for children and especially orphans. Her children would for sure not have slave-posted ears. Her slave earring is gone, but memories would sometimes surface. She ponders that maybe she will be only an old school maid. Her sandals were divided; she gave Jacob the right one, and is now unhappy with her decision. She decides she would never separate them again. Now, the sandal, with God's help, begins an important maze journey for Jacob, Nathanael, Philip, and his sister, Mariamne, along with Mugface and his family. With ensuing international turmoil in the latter end of the maze, Lee Chin meets the Zhang Family. Speculus the gladiator has now gotten into her human desire! Was her last hug with Dylan leaving the mark of a son on her heart? Will this child face his destiny with no parents or country? Will everyone reach the end and be one big family? My novel was written in volumes, bringing my dream to life! Hopefully someday as a movie and enjoyment for all ages.

Book Description
There comes a time in life when we find ourselves in the desert place of burning questions. Why? Why me? But even as we shake our fist heavenward, the heart whispers another question. Who? Who are you, God? It is a question of relationship, a question we all murmur in the hardest places. Against the backdrop of the Sonoran Desert, Lynne Hartke asks her own hard questions as cancer arrives like a thief with one goal: to take it all. Hair. The contents of a stomach. A marriage. A life. As her days become a blur of doctors' appointments, treatments, and surgeries, she wrestles with a tumble of tangled emotions, a shaken faith, and self-doubt. Cancer is now not only threatening her own life, but, in a surprising twist, the lives of both her parents as well. Through her raw, lyrical words, Hartke invites fellow sojourners to discover that in life's hardest places, they are not alone in their fear, they are not foolish to hope, and they are never forgotten by a loving, pursuing God. Never.

Book Description
Gods Thunder in the Sky presents a collection of poems offering a wide-ranging exploration of the nature of faith in our contemporary environment from the point of view of octogenarian Max Roytenberg. They, in part, represent his struggle to better understand the world around him. He seeks to communicate his perceptions to his fellow man in the hope that they strike responsive chords and represent some truths about our world that others can identify with. Written over a period of fifty years, these verses sometimes challenge God, sometimes offer appeals to God for his attention, and sometimes offer warning about the cataclysm humanity faces through the absence of faith. Throughout the collection, the poetry seeks to command new ways of looking at life. It focuses on the conflict in thought between the undeniable beauties and wonders of human existence and the horrors of the same, as well as squaring this with the idea of the existence of a deity closely involved in human affairs. Gods Thunder in the Sky offers challenge, humor, puzzles to solve, and rhymes to delight the ear as well as the mind.

Book Description
Description of Book and About the Author: A soul that is afraid of dying has never learned to live ... This is the precept by which Dick Mawson has lived his adventurous life. He was born in England during the Second World War. With his parents he crash landed into southern Africa where he grew up. In the 1940's Douglas Bader lost both his legs in a plane crash. He taught himself to fly again with artificial legs, becoming a Squadron Leader in the RAF. He went on to fly with great distinction in the Battle of Britain. During the 1950's the world was not aware of another legless fighter living in southern Africa. His name was Richard Mawson, an eleven year old boy, who lost his right leg in a farm accident. A few years later a 100 mile per hour boat accident at the Victoria Falls changes the course of his life forever. With an amputated right leg and the left badly damaged his outlook was bleak, but with tenacity and a will to win instilled in his very being, he overrides his fears and the possibility of crippling himself for life. Reminiscent of the legless Squadron Leader Douglas Bader, Mawson has defied the odds and, as he says, 'broken the boundaries of the norm'. He was lured into a life of speed and competition on water and ultimately on the race tracks of southern Africa and Europe; competing against and defeating his fellow man on a level playing field. Mawson's memoirs take us at great pace through the difficulties he has faced and the tenacity with which he turned them into the foundations of his success - as man and racer.
