Book Description
This book describes advanced machine learning models – such as temporal collaborative filtering, stochastic models and Bayesian nonparametrics – for analysing customer behaviour. It shows how they are used to track changes in customer behaviour, monitor the evolution of customer groups, and detect various factors, such as seasonal effects and preference drifts, that may influence customers’ purchasing behaviour. In addition, the book presents four case studies conducted with data from a supermarket health program in which the customers were segmented and the impact of promotional activities on different segments was evaluated. The outcomes confirm that the models developed here can be used to effectively analyse dynamic behaviour and increase customer engagement. Importantly, the methods introduced here can also be used to analyse other types of behavioural data such as activities on social networks, and educational systems.

Book Description
In today’s world, smart healthcare supports the out-of-hospital concept, which transforms and offers higher care standards. This is accomplished with individual requirements with the help of public opinion. Moreover, smart healthcare systems are generally designed to sense individual health status data, which can be forwarded to clinical professionals for interpretation. Swarm intelligence analysis is a valuable tool for categorizing public opinion into different sentiments. Dynamics of Swarm Intelligence Health Analysis for the Next Generation discusses the role of behavioral activity in the evolution of traditional medical systems to intelligent systems. It further focuses on the economic, social, and environmental impacts of swarm intelligence smart healthcare systems. Covering topics such as healthcare data analytics, clustering algorithms, and the internet of medical things, this premier reference source is an excellent resource for healthcare professionals, hospital administrators, IT managers, policymakers, educators and students of higher education, researchers, and academicians.

Book Description
Marketing, and specifically its digital marketing component, is being challenged by disruptive innovations, which are creating new, unique, and unusual opportunities, and with the emergence of new paradigms and models. Other areas of knowledge have embraced these innovations with swiftness, adapting promptly and using them as leverage to create new paradigms, models, and realities. Marketing, in clear opposition, has been somewhat dismissive, ignoring the potential of these new contexts that are emerging, some of which are already unavoidable. Confronting Security and Privacy Challenges in Digital Marketing identifies the most relevant issues in the current context of digital marketing and explores the implications, opportunities, and challenges of leveraging marketing strategies with digital innovations. This book explores the impact that these disruptive innovations are having on digital marketing, pointing out guidelines for organizations to leverage their strategy on the opportunities created by them. Covering topics such as blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality, this book is ideal for academicians, marketing professionals, researchers, and more.

Book Description
We are now living through a period of knowledge capitalism in which, as Castells put it, 'the action of knowledge upon knowledge is the main source of productivity.' In the face of such transformation, the economic, social and institutional contours of contemporary capitalism are being reshaped. At the heart of this world are an emergent set of economies, regions, institutions and peoples central of the flows and translations of knowledge. This book provides an interdisciplinary review of the triad of knowledge, space, economy on entering the twenty-first century. Drawing on a variety of disciplinary backgrounds, the first part of the book comprises a set of statements by leading authors on the role of knowledge in capitalism. Thereafter, the remaining two parts of the book explore the landscape of knowledge capitalism through a series of analyses of knowledge in action within a range of economic, political and cultural contexts. Bringing together a set of authors from across the social sciences, this book provides both a major theoretical statement on understanding the economic world and an empirical exemplification of the power of knowledge in shaping the spaces and places of today's society.

Book Description
Conventional computational methods, and even the latest soft computing paradigms, often fall short in their ability to offer solutions to many real-world problems due to uncertainty, imprecision, and circumstantial data. Hybrid intelligent computing is a paradigm that addresses these issues to a considerable extent. The Handbook of Research on Advanced Hybrid Intelligent Techniques and Applications highlights the latest research on various issues relating to the hybridization of artificial intelligence, practical applications, and best methods for implementation. Focusing on key interdisciplinary computational intelligence research dealing with soft computing techniques, pattern mining, data analysis, and computer vision, this book is relevant to the research needs of academics, IT specialists, and graduate-level students.

Book Description
Handbook on the Temporal Dynamics of Organizational Behavior is designed to help scholars begin to address the temporal shortcomings in the extant organizational behavior literature. The handbook provides conceptual and methodological reasons to study organizational behavior from a dynamic perspective and offers new conceptual and theoretical insights on some of the most popular organizational behavior topics. Unlike many other handbooks, this one provides methodological and analytical tools, including syntax and example data files, to help researchers tackle dynamic research questions effectively.

Book Description
The gathering and storage of data indexed in space and time are experiencing unprecedented growth, demanding for advanced and adapted tools to analyse them. This thesis deals with the exploration and modelling of complex high-frequency and non-stationary spatio-temporal data. It proposes an efficient framework in modelling with machine learning algorithms spatio-temporal fields measured on irregular monitoring networks, accounting for high dimensional input space and large data sets. The uncertainty quantification is enabled by specifying this framework with the extreme learning machine, a particular type of artificial neural network for which analytical results, variance estimation and confidence intervals are developed. Particular attention is also paid to a highly versatile exploratory data analysis tool based on information theory, the Fisher-Shannon analysis, which can be used to assess the complexity of distributional properties of temporal, spatial and spatio-temporal data sets. Examples of the proposed methodologies are concentrated on data from environmental sciences, with an emphasis on wind speed modelling in complex mountainous terrain and the resulting renewable energy assessment. The contributions of this thesis can find a large number of applications in several research domains where exploration, understanding, clustering, interpolation and forecasting of complex phenomena are of utmost importance.
