The authors contend that failure to pay attention to the infrastructure in these six areas can lead to a decline in the quality of your Sunday school. However, by focusing on these six building blocks, you will re-energize your leaders and allow your Sunday school to grow and develop. As you gain a renewed perspective on the potential of Sunday school, you will notice an increase in energy, both spiritual and numerical. The critics are wrong--Sunday school is not dead! Strengthening these six areas of your organization can lead to a renewed Bible Teaching Ministry. Your Sunday school can grow, and as the Sunday school grows, so, too, will the church.

Book Description
This book is for every educator in the church whether a volunteer Sunday school teacher or seasoned pastor. It takes current educational research and applies it to teaching Sunday school for students from preschool through adult. How do preschool children learn best? How do I get the middle schoolers engaged? What's the best way to have an effective adult Bible study? How do I introduce Bible Inquiry? This book gives information and encouragement for every stage of teaching the faith: Narrative (Preschool through 2nd grade), Knowledge (3rd through 5th grades), Understanding (6th through 8th grades), Reason (9th through 12th grades), and Wisdom (adult). Whether you teach five-year-olds, teenagers, or adults, this book is what you've been hoping for. It will give you confidence that whatever curriculum you have; you can use it to its fullest. It is time to set aside the dry read-a-story-and-paste-paper-together lesson and the-answer-couldn't-be-more-obvious questions and begin something that will be meaningful to each child at every grade level, from preschool through adult.

Do you ever wonder why Jeffrey talks all of the time? Or why Toni can't sit still? Or why Alex loves work sheets? Or why Jordan is always trying something new? Each chapter is fun to read, stimulating, and immensely practical. This book is valuable to teachers, and for preachers, too. DAVID R. MAINS DIRECTOR, CHAPEL OF THE AIR It's about time. Creative Teaching Methods is not just another book on the theory of creativity (which we don't need). Rather, it is a book on the practice of creativity in the classroom (which we desperately need). This is a book you will use over and over again. Creative Teaching Methods is loaded with practical and usable ideas that will make creative teaching a reality in your classroom. Without hesitation, I would recommend this book to anyone who teaches young people or adults. MIKE YACONELLI PRESIDENT, YOUTH SPECIALTIES Marlene LeFever makes the principle of learning through creative participation come alive for Christian education. Creative methods are vividly and invitingly explored for their potential for deepening the spiritual life through new ways of hearing the Word of God and using heretofore untapped personal resources in responding to it. Unique in its assumption that in Christian education creativity is just as essential in work with youth and adults as it is in work with children. D. CAMPBELL WYCKOFF PROFESSOR OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION EMERITUS, PRINCETON THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY Marlene D. LeFever is Manager of Ministry Relations for David C.
