Book Description
Dreaming with the Angels caters to young readers with a theme that focuses on God's use of angels and dreams in foretelling, celebrating, warning, and sharing the birth, death, resurrection, and ascension of His Son, Jesus Christ. Its composition is presented in a brief, factual, chronological, and Scripture-based approach on about a sixth-grade level as to why Jesus came to this planet in human form more than two thousand years ago. It is also ideal as a supplement to curricula offered for private Christian academies and homeschooling. Whether or not we've had a personal encounter with angels or a vision sent by God, there is no reason Christians can't dream about their future life of paradise in heaven with God the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, along with a multitude of angels and fellow believers.

Book Description
It was after midnight in 1990, and a group of NASA technicians are playing chess in the lounge. They never notice the soft clicking noises as radiation detectors kick in and a strange code begins taking over a computer monitor. As a glowing saucer zips past the Voyager, locks itself into orbit around Neptune, rolls over, and then disappears from view, the technicians loudly argue over the rules of the game unaware that aliens are headed toward Earth. Unfortunately, the amphibian-like creatures who reproduce in alarming numbers have made a serious mistake. They have chosen a small town in Iowa as the place to launch their invasion, mistakenly thinking they can attack under a cloak of invisibility. But this rural setting is protected by the Pirates, an elite team of adventurers and foilers of evil plots comprised of the most dangerous creatures on planet Earth young boys. As the alien invaders kidnap one of the pirates and begin to examine him for weaknesses, they have no idea that they have in their possession the girl-hating, chaos-creating nuisance that is the bane of all fourth-grade math teachers in town. It may be the last mistake they'll ever make.

Book Description
"Every event we experience and every person we meet has intentionally been put in our path to help us lead more conscious and fulfilled lives," says Cheryl Richardson, the New York Times bestselling author of Take Time for Your Life, Life Makeovers, and Stand Up for Your Life. In her new book -- her most personal work to date -- she'll show you that, once you learn to view your life from this perspective, the person who smiles at you while you're walking down the street is no longer a stranger, the phone call from an old friend who crossed your mind the day before is no longer a surprise, and the failed relationship that left you brokenhearted is no longer a source of bitterness and pain. Instead, these experiences -- examples of what Richardson calls "the unmistakable touch of grace" -- are seen as blessings in disguise, gifts that make you stronger, more conscious, and, ultimately, more alive. To read this beautiful, intimate, and profoundly inspiring book is like having a conversation with Richardson herself. Filled with illuminating stories, provocative experiments, and striking examples of how grace has influenced her own life, Richardson will help you recognize that your life is being influenced, too, in ways you may never have imagined. The Unmistakable Touch of Grace helps you to see the hidden miracles that occur every day -- and gives you the courage to use them to make your life more meaningful, magical, hopeful, and complete.

Book Description
As the visual representation of an essentially oral text, Sylvia Huot points out, the medieval illuminated manuscript has a theatrical, performative quality. She perceives the tension between implied oral performance and real visual artifact as a fundamental aspect of thirteenth- and fourteenth-century poetics. In this generously illustrated volume, Huot examines manuscript texts both from the performance-oriented lyric tradition of chanson courtoise, or courtly love lyric, and from the self-consciously literary tradition of Old French narrative poetry. She demonstrates that the evolution of the lyrical romance and dit, narrative poems which incorporate thematic and rhetorical elements of the lyric, was responsible for a progressive redefinition of lyric poetry as a written medium and the emergence of an explicitly written literary tradition uniting lyric and narrative poetics. Huot first investigates the nature of the vernacular book in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, analyzing organization, page layout, rubrication, and illumination in a series of manuscripts. She then describes the relationship between poetics and manuscript format in specific texts, including works by widely read medieval authors such as Guillaume de Lorris, Jean de Meun, and Guillaume de Machaut, as well as by lesser-known writers including Nicole de Margival and Watriquet de Couvin. Huot focuses on the writers' characteristic modifications of lyric poetics; their use of writing and performance as theme; their treatment of the poet as singer or writer; and of the lady as implied reader or listener; and the ways in which these features of the text were elaborated by scribes and illuminators. Her readings reveal how medieval poets and book-makers conceived their common project, and how they distinguished their respective roles.

Book Description
Demon Montana: Clawing my way from the depths of hell to haunt the nightmares and steal the lives of many, I earned the name "Demon." Hardened by a life that no one should live, I had rules that governed my existence. No caring. No intimacy. No love. And then I saw her... Dream. Beautiful. Brave. Bold. And for thirty days, she was mine. I would follow my rules: have her body, ignore her heart. Then, she looked at me... like she knew me. Like she saw me. Like she loved me. And I knew... thirty days weren't nearly enough. Dream Castle: Brilliant and bad ass, I was my family's fixer. I was the queen of negotiating and smoothing ruffled feathers. I had never met a situation I couldn't talk us out of... until my brother crossed the wrong family and they would accept only one payment for that debt. Me. For thirty days, I was supposed to give myself to a man so brutal, they called him "Demon." I had to follow his rules, honor his demands, be available to him only. When I met him, he had nightmares in his cold green eyes and an enemy's blood splattered on his hard, inked body. How could I survive a month with a monster without losing myself? Except... those eyes seemed to thaw a little each time he looked at me. And his chiseled body fit perfectly against mine. There was so much more to the enigma called "Demon," so many things that made him my "Damien." Suddenly, the only thing I was worried about losing in thirty days was my heart.
