I remember how panic overwhelmed me when I began to pray. I was out of practice. I used to set an alarm clock to get up at 5 in the morning. Now I give God an appointment with topics I let Him teach me about and He wakes me up. I used to recite the same things day after day. Now I start by saying thank you for the concrete things he does in my life and I hear him talking to me. I used to pray like a superstition without expecting anything except luck. Now I have the assurance that God can do what I ask and I thank Him for that.
