La flora de las Orchidaceae de Costa de Marfil es relativamente bien conocida, gracias a los recientes trabajos de dos botánicos: Laurent Aké Assi (2002) y Francisco Pérez-Vera (2003). No obstante, la primera elaboración de la flora de orquídeas de Costa de Marfil fue preparada por Summerhayes (1968) dentro de su Flora Tropical de África occidental.
