This is one of many unsung novels of Alexandre Dumas, and, despite its name, is not related to Werewolves (as his other novel of the period, the Wolf Leader). Written in 1858 (fourteen years after the Three Musketeers), this novel was conceived by one of Dumas assistants, Gaspard de Cherville.
