Book Description
"Marketing has for years promised to generate growth and transform business. Yet marketers and general managers alike see that most new products and communication campaigns fail and worry that their huge spend on marketing might be wasted. They also worry that they are slow to react to changes in the customer and competitive environment. In this book, Anthony Freeling argues that the problem lies in the usual approach to marketing strategy. Agile Marketing develops an approach, inspired by evolution, to do marketing that is better, faster and cheaper. In nature, creatures evolve by continuously making changes and keeping those changes that are fittest to survive in their environment. The book describes how to use a continuous process of fast, practical 'test, learn and commit (TLC) loops' to change marketing offers. These adapted offers are fittest to survive in their environment--the marketplace. Agile Marketing is for thoughtful people in marketing today, who share these frustrations with marketing and are in a position to do something about it."--Page 4 of cover.

Book Description
The agile practice is only one of the many iterative methods devised by development leaders in the past. Fundamentally speaking, iterative methods opposed the overly-incremental approach of the waterfall method by using a multitude of smaller phases. These phases encompass the main parts of the waterfall method (requirement, design, implementation, verification, and maintenance); but done so in smaller, more frequent increments. These are also called ‘mini-waterfalls’. In essence, the agile practice moves through a life cycle of the waterfall development method in a much shorter amount of time. The ‘thought leaders’ behind the formation of the agile development practice refined it using 12 key principles. These principles will be discussed in Chapter 7 – The 12 Agile Principles, and will be applied in most of the lessons throughout this eBook.
