Excerpt from A Treatise on the Medical and Surgical Diseases of Women History renders it certain that the Egyptians studied upon medical subjects, but with our present knowledge of the records left from that age of the world, we have no data from which to estimate the extent or accuracy of their knowledge. Nor are we able, with our acquaintance with Hebrew literature, to determine that any considerable amount of knowledge pertaining to this especial class of diseases was at that time in existence.
