Book Description
Excerpt from A Call to Librarianship: Issued to the Educated Young Men and Women of the State of Washington What do you intend to do when you have finished college? Are you going to work? Have you thought seriously about what kind of work you would like to do? And for what kind of work you are best fitted? Have you ever thought about Library Work? The American Library Association has recently issued circulars pointing out the scarcity of well prepared librarians, and urging educated young people to prepare themselves for library service. To aid the A. L. A. in its effort, and to tell you something about the work, and invite those interested in it to join the ranks of library workers, this pamphlet is issued by the Alumni Association of the University of Washington Library School. For valuable suggestions and criticisms received, the Alumni Association wishes to acknowledge its indebtedness to the following: Mr. W. E. Henry, Mr. C. W. Smith, Mr. J. T. Jennings, Mr. E. E. Ruby, and Miss Mildred Pope. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
