When tutoring an adult it is important to make the most of your time together. It is always helpful to chart progress and set goals. The following steps can help:

  1. Review anticipated goals and set goals together

  2. Have a plan for each session that addresses the goal

  3. Identify the expectations of the session

  4. Address any challenges in the plan

  5. Recognize successes

  6. Review and clarify activities

  7. Determine if expectations have been met

  8. Discuss activities for next session
