Cleveland Reads successfully impacts children’s reading skills and families’ ability to support their child’s ability to read. We do this through programming that uses dynamic, easy-to-use Lit Kits that make reading books fun while building literacy skills. This program is ready for expansion and we need a dynamic Program Manager to lead the effort.

POSITION TITLE: Program Manager 


REPORTS TO: Executive Director 


POSITION DESCRIPTION:  

The Program Manager serves as the direct link between Cleveland Reads and both the clients it serves and the organizations with whom it partners. This person will oversee the delivery and expansion of Cleveland Reads programs at various community sites, ensuring that quality outcomes are consistently achieved and grant commitments are met. In addition, the Program Manager will also build productive collaborations and partnerships with community agencies.

The Program Manager works hand-in-hand with the Executive Director to ensure that Cleveland Reads programs generate revenue and deliver results.

In addition the Program Manager coordinates research, development, and implementation of materials and products.


REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree, education or non-profit administration degree preferred. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • At least 3 years experience in non-profit management successfully managing, implementing, and coordinating multiple projects and/or programs concurrently is a must.
  • Early learning and/or literacy knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated organizing skills including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to convert literacy concepts and ideas into operational programs and services.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and desktop publishing programs.
